^PT A nona edição da THE-ICONOMIST, intitulada #realitycheck, explora a fragmentação da realidade compartilhada em uma era de circulação contínua de imagens. Partindo de uma cultura visual relativamente comum em direção a uma policultura de informações personalizadas, a edição reflete sobre como as imagens já não apenas representam o mundo, mas cada vez mais antecipam, organizam e condicionam nossa experiência dele. Os acontecimentos chegam por diferentes telas, em diferentes momentos, produzindo versões sobrepostas e frequentemente incompatíveis de uma mesma realidade. Por meio de justaposições inesperadas, acontecimentos simultâneos, narrativas fragmentadas e alternâncias entre idiomas, #realitycheck investiga a relação instável entre imagens, expectativas e a construção de sentido. A edição se desdobra como uma montagem provisória de realidades desconectadas, na qual cada imagem sugere outra conexão possível e cada ato de olhar se torna uma maneira de habitar o mundo.

^EN The ninth issue of THE-ICONOMIST, titled #realitycheck, explores the fragmentation of shared reality in an era of continuous image circulation. Moving from a relatively common visual culture toward a polyculture of personalized information, the issue reflects on how images no longer simply represent the world, but increasingly anticipate, organize, and condition our experience of it. Events arrive through different screens, at different times, producing overlapping yet often incompatible versions of the same reality. Through unexpected juxtapositions, simultaneous events, fragmented narratives, and shifting languages, #realitycheck examines the unstable relationship between images, expectations, and the construction of meaning. The issue unfolds as a provisional assembly of disconnected realities, where every image suggests another possible connection and every act of looking becomes a way of inhabiting the world.
